Sri Lanka
It is good news that the LTTE has agreed to withdraw from Muttur, on the NE Sri Lanka, and to implement a ceasefire.
India, being a strong neighbour-state and also the one to be immediately & profoundly affected, should there be a full scale war in Sri Lanka,
should take more active role in mediating peace in the Island nation.
Autonomy to Tamil Ealam on the lines of Darjeeling in India may be thought of.
A war in Sri Lanka will surely draw India into the whirlpool, due to thousands of refugees crossing the sea into India.
I only hope India will not be forced to intervene and create a seperate nation of Ealam from Sri Lanka,
like in the case of Bangladesh in 1971 created from Pakisthan.
